Notice of State Water Council Meeting to Discuss Updates to Section 14 of Georgia’s Statewide Water Management Plan

 

The State Water Council was created under the Comprehensive Statewide Water Management Planning Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 12-5-520 et seq.  The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), with oversight from the State Water Council, was charged with developing the first Comprehensive Statewide Water Management Plan (State Water Plan). The plan was approved by the State Water Council and adopted by the General Assembly in January 2008.

 

The State Water Council, which is chaired by the Director of EPD, will hold a meeting to discuss proposed updates to Section 14 of the State Water Plan with the State Water Council and receive their feedback. The State Water Council meeting will occur:

Any recommended changes to the State Water Plan that are under consideration by the State Water Council would also be brought to the public for their review and comment during a subsequent public meeting and comment period. A public review and comment period will occur prior to any final action by the State Water Council on updates to Section 14.
