Notice of State Water Council Meeting to Discuss Updates to Section 14 of Georgia’s Statewide Water Management Plan  

  

The State Water Council was created under the Comprehensive Statewide Water Management Planning Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 12-5-520 et seq.  The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), with oversight from the State Water Council, was charged with developing the first Comprehensive Statewide Water Management Plan (State Water Plan). The plan was approved by the State Water Council and adopted by the General Assembly in January 2008.  

  

The State Water Council, which is chaired by the Director of EPD, will hold a meeting to discuss proposed updates to Section 14 of the State Water Plan with the State Water Council. The State Water Council meeting will occur:

The purpose of the meeting is for EPD staff to provide an update about the public process on the proposed updates to Section 14 of the Comprehensive Statewide Water Management Plan and to request adoption of those changes.
